WHAT IS SHOCK WAVE THERAPY?
SWT (Shock Wave Therapy) works by a deep penetrating acoustic focused (ESWT) wave that activates previously inactive cells, driving the formation of new cells that replace damages tissues. Shockwave Therapy accelerates blood flow to the specific area and may induce vasodilation and angiogenesis, restoring and improving musculoskeletal tissue.
FOR WHAT CONDITIONS MIGHT SHOCK WAVE THERAPY BE RECOMMENDED FOR?
Shock Wave Therapy can be used to help with plantar fasciitis, carpel tunnel, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, golfer's elbow, hip and shoulder tendinitis/ bursitis, and many more.
HOW OFTEN MIGHT I BENEFIT FROM SHOCK WAVE THERAPY?
Treatment ranges from three times weekly to once weekly during the early phases of care. Patients will also continue to received Shock Wave Therapy to assist during 'flare up' periods as directed by the doctor.
